


The opening ceremony of "Applied Accounting and Bookkeeping Course No. (1/2026)" for village leaders from villages covered under the New Village Movement Project, implemented by the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, was held Monday morning at the Agricultural Education and Rural Development Training School in Zayarthiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw.
At the opening ceremony, Union Minister U Min Naung delivered an address. Afterwards, the Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, and departmental officials coordinated and provided necessary support in response to presentations made by the trainees which are the leaders of the New Village Movement Committees from 27 model New Village Movement villages regarding the agricultural and livestock water needs of their respective regions.
The New Village Movement Model Village Project was launched in 2015 and has been continuously implemented over the long term. To date, the project has been successfully carried out in a total of 250 villages.
This course is intended to systematically train participants in recording and maintaining financial accounts, cash inflows and outflows, and asset inventories including funds from village development funds and contributions from the Improved Cookstove Distribution Project, which is being implemented in Myanmar with financial capital. A total of 84 leaders from the New Village Movement Committees of 27 model New Village Movement villages are attending this course, it’s reported.
