Maritime intelligence firm TankerTrackers said early on Wednesday that at least two supertankers operated by the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) have broken through a U.S. naval blockade, carrying a combined 3.8 million barrels of Iranian crude.

Satellite images verified on Monday confirmed the shipments, marking Iran’s first crude oil exports in nearly two months, the firm said in a social media post. The firm also noted that the NITC-owned tanker STREAM is now departing Pakistan’s exclusive economic zone, where it had been held up for seven weeks while awaiting to return to Iran.
