Nuclear Energy Programme: Workshop on duties and responsibilities of NEPIO

The Ministry of Science and Technology is working on the nuclear energy programme under the guidance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

On Wednesday, a workshop on duties and responsibilities of Nuclear Energy Programme Implementing Organization was held at the Ministry. Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Deputy Minister Dr Nay Chi Lae Lae Thein and officials as well as experts from the IAEA and representatives from various ministries took part in the discussion.

 During the workshop, IAEA experts discussed national nuclear energy policies, NEPIO’s responsibilities, implementation processes, and international experiences in nuclear energy development. The workshop, which began on June 9, will continue until June 12. It aims to help Myanmar better understand IAEA’s Nuclear Energy Milestone Approach and strengthen preparations for future nuclear energy programs.
