Opening of DOHSD: MOH UM attended the opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of the Dental and Oral Health Specialist Department at the Specialist Hospital (Mingaladon) in Yangon Region was held in the afternoon of June 3. The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Health Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, departmental officials, and invited guests.

First, the Union Minister, the Yangon Region Chief Minister, and the Minister for Social Affairs officially inaugurated the Dental and Oral Health Specialist Department by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. They then observed the provision of dentures to 50 members of Sangha and presented vitamin supplements to them. The attendees subsequently toured the dental treatment rooms and specialized dental radiology facilities, while officials provided instructions and arranged for any necessary support and requirements.

The Ministry of Health has been expanding access to quality dental and oral healthcare services for the public.

In addition to the Dental and Oral Specialist Hospital in Nay Pyi Taw, specialized dental and oral health departments have been established at the Kandaw Nadi Treatment Center of Mandalay General Hospital, Specialist Hospital (Thaketa) and Yangon University Hospital in Yangon, and now at Specialist Hospital (Mingaladon).

The members of the public can receive a range of dental services at these facilities, including tooth extractions, fillings, dental implants, scaling and cleaning, denture fitting, and other dental treatments.
