3rd Amyotha Hluttaw Session: 2nd Day of 2nd regular session convened

The second day of the Second Regular Session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held today, June 3, at 10:00 a.m. in the Amyotha Hluttaw Meeting Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

According to the agenda, the question-and-answer session commenced. U Aung Chit Lwin, Amyotha Hluttaw representative No. (2), from Sagaing Region, asked whether there are any plans to reduce electricity meter charges imposed by the solar power distribution project in Hkamti Township, Sagaing Region. U Zaw Zaw Myint, Amyotha Hluttaw representative No. (11) from Rakhine State, asked whether there are plans to install solar-powered street lighting systems in Kyaukphyu Township, Rakhine State. Along with these, a total of four questions were raised, and Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aye Kyaw responded to them.

The Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw then delivered remarks regarding the formation of a committee on local and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Following this, U Yan Naing Win, Amyotha Hluttaw representative No. (1), from Ayeyawady Region, who had been assigned by the Speaker, explained the duties, powers, rights, and term of the Committee on Local and International Non-Governmental Organizations.

Subsequently, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker submitted to the Hluttaw a list of 15 committee included Daw Mi Mi Kyaw Tun, representative No. (4), from Kachin State, as Chairperson, and U Aung Chit Lwin, representative No. (2), from Sagaing Region, as Secretary. 

The Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lt-Gen Nyunt Win Swe, then submitted the Anti-Online Scam Bill to the Hluttaw.

Afterward, U Zin Min Htet, representative No. (7), from Bago Region, read and explained the report of the Bill Committee concerning the Anti-Online Scam Bill.

The Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw then announced that any Hluttaw representatives wishing to discuss the Anti-Online Scam Bill could submit their names for participation in the debate.

Today's meeting was adjourned at 11:22 a.m. The third day of the session is scheduled to continue on June 8 at 10:00 a.m. it’s reported.
