Youth Affairs : Support for youth development and sports sector

Vice Chairman of the Central Committee on Youth Affairs Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin on Sunday met with young people from Mon State at Mawlamyine University to discuss youth development and future opportunities.

During the meeting, youth representatives highlighted the need for a dedicated youth center and expanded training programs in languages, technology, and leadership. The Union Minister said the government would work to establish a youth center in Mawlamyine as soon as possible.

He also donated sports equipment worth over 1.5 million kyats to Mawlamyine University. The Union Minister later inspected the proposed site for the Mon State Youth Center and visited a temporary youth center facility in Mawlamyine.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited the State Sports Hall and awarded 1 million kyats to Mon State's men's and women's volleyball teams preparing for the 2026 Under-25 Regional and State Volleyball Championship.
