The Ministry of Electricity and Energy has announced a temporary power shutdown on May 30 and May 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to carry out maintenance work on the 66kV Naungkar–Hotel Zone transmission line and equipment at the Naungkar substation.

The work includes tree and branch clearing along the 26.4-mile transmission line, as well as maintenance of the Switchyard and Control Room to improve system reliability and reduce power interruptions.

During the maintenance period, electricity supply from the Hotel Zone and Sankar substations will be temporarily suspended, affecting 9,481 customers in four wards of Nanpan town and 129 villages in Nyaungshwe Township. Local authorities and electricity users in the affected areas have already been notified in advance.
