MOEE Announcement : Power line upgrade in Magwe Region

The Ministry of Electricity and Energy is replacing the existing ACSR 132 kV Magwe–Taungdwingyi power line with advanced aluminium conductor composite core (ACCC) cables, which can carry more than twice the current capacity.

From May 22 to May 24, 4% of the upgrade work was completed. The remaining section will undergo power shutdown from 6:00 AM on May 29 to 6:00 PM on May 31, to continue the replacement. Necessary power adjustments will be made during the work, and residents have been informed through the local electricity offices.
