Coordination Meeting : Meeting on rehabilitation efforts for Chin State held

A coordination meeting on rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Chin State was held on the evening of May 26 at the meeting hall of the Chin State Government Office in Hakha.

First, the Chin State Chief Minister Dr. Wong Hsun Htan, stated that terrorist insurgents had seized some townships within Chin State, causing extensive destruction and losses to the lives, homes, and property of the people.

He said that the Union Government had formed a committee like this in order to carry out reconstruction for the damaged and lost properties, and that budgets had also been allocated for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities. He added that rehabilitation and reconstruction are responsibilities that require not only government organizations but also the participation of the entire public.

Next, the Vice Chairman of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee and Minister for Security and Border Affairs, Colonel Khin Maung Htwe, gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation on the progress of rehabilitation and reconstruction activities being carried out in Chin State.

Afterwards, the Committee Chairman, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Than Soe, explained and discussed matters related to rehabilitation and reconstruction in Chin State.

Following that, committee members from Union ministries, including deputy directors-general and responsible state-level departmental officials, presented the completed, ongoing, and future plans for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in Chin State.

In response to the presentations and discussions, state ministers and the Committee Chairman Deputy Minister, provided additional suggestions and discussions. Afterwards, the Chief Minister coordinated the necessary requirements and delivered concluding remarks, it’s reported.
