Japan, India foreign ministers agree to cooperate for stable energy supply

The foreign ministers of Japan and India have agreed to cooperate to ensure safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and a stable energy supply.

Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu is visiting India to participate in a foreign ministerial meeting of the Quad framework of Japan, India, the United States and Australia on Tuesday. Motegi met with India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Monday ahead of the Quad meeting.

The Indian minister expressed expectations for the further strengthening of relations between India and Japan. They also affirmed that Japan and India will take concrete steps to advance cooperation in the sectors of defense, security and human exchanges.
