Morocco faces unusual heat and storm conditions

Morocco is currently experiencing a noticeable heatwave accompanied by thunderstorm disturbances in several regions, creating unusual weather conditions marked by both soaring temperatures and atmospheric instability, according to Hussein Yacoubed, Head of Communication at the General Directorate of Meteorology.

In a statement to Hespress, Yacoubed explained that the current weather situation is characterized by hot conditions affecting several parts of the Kingdom. On May 21, exceptionally high temperatures were recorded, peaking in the city of Sidi Slimane at 42.4°C. Eight other weather stations also exceeded the 40°C mark.  The capital, Rabat, recorded 40°C.
