Viet Nam plans airport tax payment system

Viet Nam's tax authorities and Ministry of Finance are actively drafting a mechanism to allow citizens to settle outstanding tax debts directly at airports and border gates.

This initiative aims to address cases where passengers discover temporary exit bans due to unpaid taxes just before their flights. To avoid last-minute panic, tax agencies are also attempting to notify individuals 30 days in advance via electronic accounts and registered addresses before imposing travel suspensions.
