








Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung, accompanied by officials, met with ethnic literature and cultural associations in Mawlamyine to discuss supporting the registration and activities of these organizations, preserving traditional clothing and customs, coordinating with education authorities to appoint more ethnic language teachers, and promoting unity among ethnic communities.
He also inspected the Mon State Ethnic Cultural Center in Min Ywa Village, reviewing exhibits of Mon, Kayin, Bamar, and Pa-O traditional houses, clothing, tools, and cultural items, and emphasized proper display, public education, and ongoing development of the center. Built on 20 acres with Mon State government budget allotment, the center aims to preserve the cultural heritage of Mon State’s ethnic groups and provide a space for the public to learn about their traditions.
