Hong Kong subdivided flat fire forces 300 to be evacuated

A deadly, late-night fire broke out in a subdivided flat inside the 62-year-old Man Yuen Building in Jordan, Hong Kong, forcing about 300 residents to evacuate. The blaze resulted in one fatality and left four others injured, putting the local community on high alert.

The 62-year-old building was undergoing exterior renovations and was wrapped in scaffolding and netting. Firefighters quickly suppressed external flames to prevent further spread, and the building's fire safety equipment was confirmed to be functional.
