Work Coordination Meeting: MSWRR UM delivered the opening speech

A work coordination meeting of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement was held in the ministry’s joint meeting hall on May 18 and May 19.

On May 18, Union Minister Dr. Soe Win delivered the opening speech. In his opening address, the Union Minister provided guidance on holding elections in 2025 leading to the formation of a new democratic Government, the directives of the President from Union Government meetings, the importance of achieving domestic peace, the government’s prioritization of improving education and healthcare and the need for the ministry, in line with the President’s guidance on early childhood care and development, while strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

Subsequently, the Departments of Social Welfare, Disaster Management, and Resettlement presented their activities, assessments, and future work plans for fiscal year 2025–2026 from their head offices in Nay Pyi Taw, regions, and states.

In response to these presentations, the respective Directors General provided comprehensive evaluations highlighting strengths and weaknesses. Afterwards, Deputy Ministers Dr. Than Soe and Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin delivered overall assessments of the presentations. The Union Minister then coordinated necessary matters and delivered the closing speech.
