Under the government’s 100-day plan, concerted efforts are underway nationwide to bring about meaningful improvements across various sectors. Following the president’s guidance, various ministries are working diligently to implement initiatives that ensure a better future for the environment and public welfare.
In North Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region, the Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health launched a comprehensive health awareness campaign to promote vaccination, improve hygiene practices, prevent dengue fever and engage the community in maintaining overall public health.
Department of Public Health (North Okkalapa Tsp), Departmental Head, Dr. Myo Min Tun said " During the government’s 100-day plan, our medical team visited wards of Township to check the vaccination status of children under 15, making sure those who missed doses or had never been vaccinated received them. At the same time, we are also working with the community to prevent dengue through simple hygiene practices. I want to emphasize that prevention is always better than treatment—dengue is preventable and public participation is essential to stop diseases."
Management and Administration Committee (North Okkalapa Tsp), Chairman, Win Thu said " We are carrying out germ-free activities in every house and ward to raise awareness about health and encourage healthy living. We also conduct weekly Abate spraying and work closely with local water authorities to prevent mosquitoes and flies, and we plan to continue expanding these efforts to protect the community."
The campaign involves close collaboration with the local health centers, the Red Cross Society and ward administrators, with all community members actively participating in addressing health concerns.
Hluttaw Representative (North Okkalapa Tsp), Win Win Aung said "We are working on proper water supply in all 19 wards, starting early each morning. Good water supply is essential for health, as it reduces mosquito and fly breeding and helps prevent disease."
During the government’s 100 day plan, efforts are being effectively focused on improving hygiene practices, carrying out vaccination drives, cooperating with local health initiatives, and ensuring proper water supply to prevent diseases and promote a healthier city for all.
