Train driver tests positive for drugs

A train driver involved in a deadly collision with a bus in Bangkok has tested positive for an illicit substance, police said, as authorities intensify their investigation into the crash that left eight people dead and 32 others injured.

Preliminary drug tests on the train driver, identified as Sayomporn, returned positive, Makkasan police station chief told reporters.  Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, confirmed that the train driver has been preliminary charged with reckless driving causing death and serious injury.
