Combating Online Frauds: Illegal online gambling operation busted in Shan State

Authorities in Monshu Township of Southern Shan State, seized 18 illegal Chinese nationals and confiscated buildings and equipment used for online gambling on May 15.

The operation took place near the Thanlwin River in the Mongshu–Mong San area and Hopone Village. Security forces discovered multiple structures, including residential units and work sheds, used for illegal gambling activities.

The detainees are under investigation, and authorities continue to track and prosecute all involved according to the law. The government emphasized ongoing cooperation with international partners to prevent online gambling and financial fraud across Myanmar.
