




President U Min Aung Hlaing met with townselders and MSME entrepreneurs in Pyin Oo Lwin on Saturday.
Officials provided update reports on work implementations following the guidance of the Head of State during the previous visit and development efforts as well as the plans for 100-day period of the new government.
Attendees later reported on the needs for providing quality coffee species, import permit for modern machinery, loan disbursement and land permission for establishing coffee plants.
The Union Ministers and Mandalay Region Chief Minister explained the government efforts for progress of transportation, agriculture, livestock, rural development, environmental conservation, and MSME development.
The President highlighted ongoing projects to improve the town, saying that Pyin Oo Lwin is recognized as a prime destination for tourism due to its natural beauty, cool climate, and suitability for living. Efforts are underway to maintain cleanliness, greenery, and proper waste management, while promoting local production of electricity, food, and traditional goods for both residents and visitors.
He added that the town is also known for flowers, cherries, fruit cultivation, and dairy production, with continued emphasis on forest preservation, water management, and environmental protection. Education, sports, and health sectors are being strengthened through the development of schools, libraries, and playgrounds.
The President urged local residents and businesses to work together to support the town’s sustainable growth and enhance its reputation as a model city. After the meeting, the President viewed the display of MSME products and regional foods.
In the afternoon, the President and party inspected the road construction site, connecting Mandalay-Lashio Road to Central Fire Brigade Training School. They also visited Yadanapon Teleport and heard reports on work progress of Yadanapon New Satellite Town.
The President instructed for water supply, power distribution, quake-resistant buildings, greening tasks, efficient usage of water resources while striving for development of IT industry. The President and party later took a tour of the Yadanapon New Satellite Town.
