Better Transportation: Five major roads upgraded in Pyin Oo Lwin

Five major roads; Nawarat Road, Theingi Road, Pyithaya Road, Yadana Road and Malar Yuzana Road in Ward 8 and 10 of Padetha Myo Thit in Pyin Oo Lwin were opened on Saturday. These roads were upgraded under 100-day project of the government and President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the opening ceremonies.

The ceremony was inaugurated with the clarification on road upgrading process presented by the Mandalay Region Chief Minister. After ceremonial ribbon cutting, the President pressed the button to unveil the stone inscription and sprinkled scented water on it.

Then, the President and officials inspected the newly upgraded facilities with motorcade. It’s learnt that these 5 major roads were constructed since the establishment of Padetha Myo Thit. Although the original roads were designated as two-lane roads, they were not in a condition that allowed two vehicles to pass safely. Therefore, upgrading and widening works were carried out to expand the road width to 24 feet.
