People's Voice: Pyithu Hlattaw Speaker meets with residents in Magwe

Pyithu Hlattaw Speaker U Khin Yi ,accompanied by Magwe Region Hlattaw Speaker Dr. Maung Maung Htay, met with residents, enterprenurers and social organizations at City hall in Magwe on Friday.

During the meeting, the Pyithu Hlattaw Speaker stated that the purpose the gathering is to help realize the Head of State’s guidance in moving forwards to the nation’s second chapter together, through cooperation among the government, Hluttaw, the people, and political parties.

He added that the meeting was also intended to identify matters related to creating job opportunities and regional development within their area, as well as issues that the government would implement and that required coordination by the Hluttaw. As Hluttaw primarily carrys out the responsibility of legislation, the Pyithu Hlattaw Speaker stressed that scrutiny and actions will be undertaken to amend certain existing laws and enact the new laws in order to ensure that the people can live peacefully and securely under the protection of the law, and to promote social and economic development.

He added that with regard to the existing laws, priority will be given to laws that serve the public interest, provide security for the people, and strengthen the rule of law. He added that priority will currently be given to enacting an anti-online fraud law that is aligned with the current conditions of the country during the upcoming Hluttaw sessions. In addition, laws related to investment that would support national economic development will also be reviewed and amended where necessary.

In addition, he encouraged entrepreneurs, social organizations, and local residents in the Magwe Region to submit recommendations on matters that the Hluttaw should legislate in order to help create local employment opportunities and support regional development.

Afterwards, the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker heard reports on regional development and stability and development of MSME enterprises and then documented the reports.
