Inspection of National Museum: MOHTC UM inspected National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw)

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism, and Culture U Maung Myint, along with responsible officials, visited National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) under the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, in the afternoon of May 14.

 During the inspection, the Director General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum explained the restoration and exhibition status of the Early Historical Gallery (Pyu Era Gallery) and the Historical Period (11th–14th century AD) Gallery (Bagan Era Gallery) in Building B of the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), which had been damaged by the Mandalay earthquake and subsequently repaired and rearranged.

The Union Minister then provided guidance, emphasizing the importance of valuing cultural heritage and displaying it using proper preservation techniques. He also advised conducting public awareness campaigns, including via social media, to foster love, appreciation, respect, and value for cultural heritage among the public, and to invigorate patriotic spirit, it’s reported.
