35th FAO Regional Conference for Europe holds in Tajikistan

The 35th FAO Regional Conference for Europe was being held from May 11 to 15 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, focusing on integrating climate action, biodiversity conservation, and land restoration. Under the theme "Uniting for Sustainability”, delegates and ministers discussed strengthening the efficiency and resilience of agriculture against geopolitical, climate, and economic pressures.

During the event, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu noted that transforming agri-food systems in low- and middle-income regions requires roughly $650 billion in additional yearly investments. The conference featured side events highlighting digital pathways, data ecosystems, and smart farming to help small-scale farmers transition to modern technologies.
