Distribution of Sunn Hemp Seed: AYA Region CM attended the event

A ceremony for the distribution and sowing of Green Manure (Sunn Hemp) seeds was held Thursday morning at the Shwe Kwin Tharyar Hall in Kwin Yar Village, Kangyidaunt Township, Pathein District. Regional Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw attended the event alongside other officials to personally distribute and sow the seeds.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister urged farmers to widely utilize green manure and natural fertilizers to improve agricultural productivity.

Next, the Region Minister for Planning, Economics, and Finance explained the measures taken to ensure farmers have an adequate supply of fuel and the Region Director of the Department of Rural Development discussed the status of fertilizer distribution to local farmers.

The Chief Minister addressed the concerns raised by the farmers and coordinated with relevant departments to fulfill their needs. Following the discussions, the Chief Minister and officials handed over Green Manure (Sunn Hemp) seeds to the attending farmers.

The Chief Minister and party then viewed a presentation by the Region Director of the Department of Agriculture on the benefits of using natural and green manures to enhance soil fertility.

Afterwards, the Chief Minister joined departmental staff and local farmers at the 3-acre farmland of farmer U Myo Myint, where they participated in the collective sowing of Sunn Hemp seeds, it’s reported.
