Best Sports Awards: YGN Region CM presented awards and cash prizes

The award ceremony for the Best Athletes and Best (Administrator/Coach) of 2025, jointly organized by the Myanmar Olympic Committee and the Myanmar Sports Media Federation, was held Monday morning at the Union Hall, Kyaikkasan Ground, Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon). 

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered a congratulatory speech. 

Then, Vice Chairman U Wunna of the Myanmar Sports Media Federation clarified and presented the selection process for the Best Athletes of 2025, the ongoing activities of the Myanmar Sports Media Federation, and the future work plans. 

After that, Yangon Region Chief Minister and responsible officials presented awards and cash prizes to the winners of the Best Athlete (Male/Female) and Best Administrator/Coach for 2025. 

Following this, bodybuilder Maung Ye Htun Naung expressed words of gratitude. 

Subsequently, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Region and State Badminton Competition was held at the National Badminton Indoor Stadium, Myanmar Badminton Federation, Lanmadaw Township. 

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered an opening speech. 

Then, the Yangon Region Chief Minister and officials warmly greeted the competing athletes, and the Chief Minister presented cash prizes to the drum and bugle corps. 

The competition will be held with 239 athletes from May 11 to May 15, it’s reported.
