Health Sector: MOH Union Minister tours in Shan State

Union Minister for Health Professor Dr That Khine Win, together with officials, visited Sao San Tun Hospital in Taunggyi of Shan State on 9th May.

He met with the Medical Superintendent, professors and matrons and provided the needs on hospital operation. At the Oncology Ward, the Union Minister stressed the need to strive for reducing waiting time for patient who receive radiotherapy, and inspected the construction site of Oncology Center. They also visited the University of Medicine (Taunggyi), met with the Rector and teachers, and fulfilled the needs.

On 10th May, the Union Minister visited the Office of Food and Drugs Administration Department, where he stressed on food safety measures and upgrade of laboraries under the FDA across the country.

Then, the Union Minister and party visited the Women and Children Hospital (Taunggyi) and inspected the registration of patients via Software system, treatment process at In-patient ward,  Clinic and Pharmacy. 

The Union Minister emphasizes for providing better treatment, and support emergency medicines for patients. At the Midwifery Training School, the Union Minister observed the practical learning process and fulfilled the  requirements regarding the teaching and accommodation of the trainees.

Then, they met with the staff at the State Public Health Department, and instructed for immunization program, conducting advanced courses for health staff and resuming health care services at Pekon People's Hospital.

The Union Minister and party also visited Heho Station Hospital in Kalaw township, Thayetpu Rural Health Department and  Wat Phyu Yay Rural Health Department (Branch) and coordinated the necessaries.
