WHO on safe disembarkation measure for hantavirus-stricken boat

Maria Van Kerkhove of the World Health Organization said preparations are underway for the safe disembarkation of passengers aboard a cruise ship linked to hantavirus concerns.  She said the passengers will be transferred ashore in small groups under tightly coordinated procedures. She added that WHO classifies those onboard as “high risk contacts” strictly for operational and safety purposes.
