Trade ministers from the Group of Seven countries have agreed to accelerate efforts to diversify supply chains for critical minerals. Japan’s Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Akazawa Ryosei and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer were among those who met in France on Wednesday.

The statement said that the G7 further recognizes that ensuring the long-term viability of diversified supply capacities requires an appropriate market environment and closer cooperation with trusted partners. The ministers confirmed that the G7 bloc and other partners will continue to work closely as they seek to create a specific framework and draw up necessary policies.
