Trang An Festival promotes nature preservation

In the recent holiday, Viet Nam Ninh Bình province has been one of the most popular tourist destinations. The Tràng An Festival, also known as the Forest Opening Ceremony in the province not only possesses spiritual and cultural values but is also one of the most unique ecological festivals in Viet Nam and the world.

 Thousands of locals and tourists joined the dragon procession on the Sào Khê River to perform the rituals. Among them was an important ritual: fetching and carrying water. The Festival is based on the belief that only on the 17th day of the third lunar month are people allowed to enter the forest for controlled exploitation. The festival carries the message that humans must respect nature.
