Spanish PM leaves hotel in Ankara after emergency landing in Turkiye

A plane carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez made an emergency landing in Ankara, Turkiye on Sunday. The aircraft was traveling from Madrid to Yerevan for the European Political Community Summit. The emergency landing was caused by a technical problem onboard, not a security threat.

The plane landed safely with no injuries reported. Sánchez and his delegation stayed overnight in Ankara. On Monday, Sánchez was seen leaving the hotel in Ankara and heading to the airport. His convoy then departed for Esenboğa Airport to resume the journey to Armenia.
