Sri Lanka welcomes Maldives President

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday officially welcomed Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at the President’s Office in Colombo. The visit is part of Muizzu’s first state visit to Sri Lanka, which began at the invitation of Dissanayake.

The two leaders held bilateral talks aimed at strengthening ties between the two Indian Ocean nations. Both countries signed multiple agreements. They also discussed: Expanding trade and investment, strengthening maritime and regional cooperation, promoting sustainable fisheries and environmental protection.
