Russian Defence Minister meets Kim Jong-Un in Pyongyang and awards North Korean troops

Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov held talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in Pyongyang, said Moscow's defence ministry, as the two countries deepen their military cooperation.

During the meeting, Belousov awarded Order of Courage medals to North Korean soldiers who fought with Russian troops in Russia's Kursk region, praising them as "the elite of the Korean armed forces". They have agreed to "long-term" military cooperation, Russia's defence ministry said Sunday. Belousov said "They are ready to sign a plan this year for Russian–Korean military cooperation for the period of 2027–2031".
