Maldives, China discuss expanding fish exports and trade cooperation

The Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Kong Xianhua, met with Maldives Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade. Speaking about the meeting, the ambassador said that they exchanged views on fully utilizing the Free Trade Agreement and on exporting Maldivian fish products to China’s Sichuan Province.

In addition, discussions were also held on strengthening cooperation in fisheries, agriculture, and other industrial sectors. In a social media post regarding the meeting, Minister Saeed said that discussions focused on maximizing the benefits of the Maldives-China Free Trade Agreement and expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
