India, Austria sign MoUs to strengthen cooperation

India and Austria on Thursday signed multiple agreements and announcements aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across defence, trade, technology, education and culture. Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, who was on his first official visit to India, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. 

During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest including the need to reform global institutions. In the joint presser, the Austrian Chancellor praised India’s growth and development.  He added that he will strengthen his partnership with India in various sectors such as defense, semiconductor, quantum, and biotechnology.
