Sikhs celebrate harvest festival of Baisakhi, marking new year

For Sikhism believers, Baisakhi is an ancient festival symbolizing the new harvest season and the beginning of the solar new year.

In Sikh temples, people participate in congregational singing, eat communal meals and reflect on the tenets of their faith that serving fellow human beings and seeking to build a justice society while living a simple life. This year, Sikh pilgrims gathered at the Gurdwara Panja Sahib which is one of Sikhism's most holy places, paid their respects on Baisakhi and bathed in the holy water tank on it.
