Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping hold talks in Beijing

Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping discussed a comprehensive strategic partnership, joint energy projects, and the integration of logistics routes during talks in Beijing.

The parties discussed the further joint development of the super-giant Galkynysh gas field in Turkmenistan. Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan noted that the unification of Turkmenistan’s “Revival of the Great Silk Road” strategy and China’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative opens up enormous opportunities for all of Eurasia.

Xi noted that China is interested in importing environmentally friendly Turkmen agricultural products. In turn, China is ready to supply Turkmenistan with high-performance agricultural machinery, implement water-saving technologies, and develop green energy.
