US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his country had been informed by most of its NATO allies rejecting involved with its military operation against Iran.

He added that US don’t need help from allies or any other countries in the world to defend the Strait of Hormuz. During a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin on the same day, Trump repeatedly voiced dissatisfaction over what he described as insufficient support from NATO allies.

Donald Trump, US President said "I've long said that I wonder whether or not NATO would ever be there for us. So, this was a great test. Because we don't need them, but they should have been there."

He also said that US withdrawal from NATO was something the country should think about, adding that such a decision might not necessarily require congressional approval.
