On Wednesday, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung asked for measures bracing against the worst possible scenario. Lee also called for a supplementary budget for war to minimize the economic impact stemming from the prolonged conflict in the Middle East.

He said that this budget will focus on providing direct income support for the vulnerable population and preferential treatment for local and rural communities. He added that additional emergency measures should be established, such as export control of petroleum products and expanded nuclear power plant operation.
