China says train service with N.Korea 'of great significance'

China said that maintaining regular passenger train services with North Korea was of "great significance", after reports that passenger train service between the two countries will resume on Thursday after a six-year halt due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The service will be open to Chinese people working and studying in North Korea, as well as North Koreans working, studying and visiting family abroad, according travel agents for official ticketing booths in Beijing and Dandong. Tourists will not yet be eligible to buy tickets.
