Voting underway across Nepal in snap parliamentary elections

Voting has begun across Nepal for the House of Representatives elections on Thursday, with citizens heading to polling centers nationwide to elect their representatives. Nepali Election Commission said all arrangements were in place to ensure free, fair and peaceful voting, urging voters to cast their ballots without fear.

It was learned that polling was taking place in all 77 districts from 7am to 5pm in a single phase. Vote counting will begin after the completion of polling and the transportation of ballot boxes to designated counting centers. The results will determine the composition of the lower house of Nepal’s federal parliament.
