PM Modi, Canadian PM Mark Carney hold talks in New Delhi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held wide-ranging talks with his Canadian counterpart Mark Carney in New Delhi, focusing on advancing the India–Canada Strategic Partnership. Both leaders reviewed progress achieved across diverse areas, building on their earlier meetings in Kananaskis in June 2025 and Johannesburg in November 2025.

They took stock of ongoing cooperation in key sectors including trade and investment, energy, critical minerals, agriculture, education, research and innovation, as well as people-to-people ties. The two leaders also exchanged views on key regional and global developments, reaffirming their commitment to deepen bilateral engagement.
