Sapporo Snow Festival attracts many visitors on final day

The annual snow festival in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo ended on Wednesday after delighting visitors for eight days. Since its opening on February 4, the Sapporo Snow Festival in Hokkaido Prefecture attracts visitors with the display of more than 200 snow and ice sculptures at three venues in the city.

Visitors also enjoyed the unique snow sculptures of video game characters and athletes. A woman visiting from Hyogo Prefecture said she had attended the festival before at night, but seeing the sculptures and all their details in daylight was impressive.
