The largest winter tourism event in Mongolia, the “Thousand Camel Festival,” was successfully held for the 29th time in Mogolia, from February 6–8. The festival was first organized in 1997 with the aim of promoting the breeding of two-humped camels, preserving traditional livestock practices, rituals, and culture, and supporting camel-related heritage and sports.

Camel herders from more than 60 soums participated in the festival with over 1,000 camels. The festival has expanded steadily each year. Today, it has developed into a national winter celebration, as demonstrated by the 29th edition in Dalanzadgad city, with over 8,000 visitors attended, including more than 200 foreign tourists.
