Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi attended a campaign event held by her Liberal Democratic Party in Tokyo on Saturday.

At the event, she pledged to make Japan more prosperous and safer, including through tougher immigration screening, in a final appeal to voters on the eve of snap elections. She expressed that "no matter where people live", she wanted them to "live safely, receive the medical care and welfare support they need".
