Land Management Committee: YGN land management Committee held meeting

Yangon Region Committee for Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands Holds Meeting (1/2026).

The work coordination meeting (1/2026) of the Yangon Region Committee for the Management of Vacant, Fallow, and Virgin Lands was held on February 3 at Meeting Hall (3) of the Yangon Region Government Office. The meeting was attended by the Committee Chairman and Yangon Region Chief Minister, U Soe Thein, along with other committee members.

The session opened with a keynote address by Chief Minister U Soe Thein. Following the opening, Committee Secretary U Kyaw Nyein used a PowerPoint presentation to detail current land cases and applications. Attendees then engaged in a collective discussion and provided suggestions regarding land management issues within the Yangon Region.

The committee reviewed and reached decisions on a total of 73 cases from the Hlegu, Taikkyi, Hmawbi, Mingaladon, Kyauktan, and Kungyangon townships. With the unanimous agreement of all members, the following cases were processed in accordance with official procedures:

Applications for Right to Use/Work Land (57 cases) including 44 cases for agriculture, 5 cases for livestock and 8 cases for other businesses and 6 cases for land already granted usage rights, 10 applications to reclassify previously granted land as "Farmland."

The Chief Minister concluded the meeting with closing remarks, emphasizing adherence to established rules and regulations.
