Tour in Mandalay : Support for Agriculture and livestock development

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung visited a dairy farm in Sun Ye Inn area of Sint Kai Township in Kyaukse District of Mandalay Region on Sunday.

He met with officials and instructed for improving dairy farming, ensuring sufficient cattle, proper feeding schedules, and farm hygiene and safety. The Union Minister also inspected the Kyun-U Solar Irrigation Project near the Doattawady River, which provides water for local farmland.

He encouraged farmers to plant triple crops per year, including sunflowers, and use guidance from agricultural experts to improve yields. Later, the Union Minister visited the seed production fields in Pyaw Bwe Township to review sunflower seed cultivation. He urged officials to support farmers with high-quality seeds and proper irrigation to boost domestic oil production.
