India's Finance Minister announced major initiatives in Union Budget

India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a series of key measures in the Union Budget for the financial year 2026–27 in Parliament on Sunday.

The Finance Minister announced the setting up of three new chemical parks across the country to boost domestic manufacturing and cut import dependence and also proposed setting up of the initiative to strengthen traditional costumes and Handicrafts.

She also highlighted scaling up manufacturing in seven strategic sectors, reviving legacy industries, creating champion MSMEs, pushing infrastructure development, and building city-based economic regions as engines of growth.
