India pays tribute to the Mahatma, honours his legacy of peace, unity and non-violence

78th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi was organized at Gandhi Samadhi, Rajghat, in New Delhi. At the ceremony, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and concerned officials offered floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi. 

Every year on 30th January, the nation honours the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, who was the guiding light of the country’s struggle for independence. The day is also observed as Martyrs’ Day, to pay tribute to all freedom fighters and martyrs who laid down their lives for India’s independence and unity.
