







The third and final phase of the multiparty democracy general election continued on January 25, with polling stations opening at 6 a.m. in 61 townships nationwide.
In Yangon Region, eligible voters from 17 townships are casting their ballots at designated polling stations. Also in Tamwe Township, Yangon, voters exercised their voting rights in an orderly manner, freely choosing preferred parties and candidates in the hope of contributing to the country’s future development.
Seven candidates from political parties are contesting for Pyithu Hluttaw seats in Tamwe Township. The multiparty democracy general election is conducted in three phases, covering 263 of the country’s 330 townships. Voter turnout reached 52.13 percent in Phase One and 55.59 percent in Phase Two, while the results of Phase Three are expected to be announced in due course.
