






A coordination meeting on technology support for micro, small and medium enterprises was held at the Ministry of industry on Saturday. It was attended by Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, the Deputy Minister and concerned officials.
The Union Minister said that applied research is underway to develop MSMEs, including bamboo-based manufacturing, earthenware pots, roof tiles and bamboo fiber industries, in line with the guidance of the Acting President during regional development visits.
He stressed the need of technical upgrades for small-scale industrialists. The Union Minister added that factory-based training and hands on training courses will be opened for long-term technology maintenance, with support measures aligned to field conditions. He stressed that the Ministry will coordinate with local entrepreneurs and industrialists to develop roof tile production.
The Deputy Minister later said roof tiles must be marketable, good quality, compatible with local method and affordable for consumers, with further cooperation with tile factories. The Managing Director of No. 2 Heavy Industries Enterprise presented technical guidance on ceramic tile production, followed by discussions on measures to advance the roof tile sector.
